Rohit Tak is a senior project associate in the Sustainable Cities Program. His work is focused on WRI’s road safety program under the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety. He is involved in the road safety projects in India, Thailand and Vietnam to make the cities walkable, bike-able and safer by design.
Prior to joining WRI, Rohit has worked for 6 years in the field of architecture and urban design in India and internationally. In the Indian context, he has worked on the significant public projects including the Sabarmati riverfront development and the Tender SURE street design project. His international work mainly focused in the urban areas of California includes advocating community engagement in planning processes, inclusive strategies in urban planning, transit oriented developments and complete street designs.
Rohit holds bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Pune and master’s degree in urban design from the University of California at Berkeley, for which he received the prestigious Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship for the year 2014-15.
