Sudeept is a Senior Associate with the Sustainable Communities team at EMBARQ India. His work lies at the intersection of sustainable transport, urban planning and urban design with a prime focus on strategy planning and on-ground implementation for safe access and public space design. He has been leading the work in development neighbourhood improvement plans and partnerships for EMBARQ, which address areas of safe access for pedestrians and cyclists, neighbourhood urban greens, way finding and public transport solutions in the neighbourhoods. Sudeept has been working with multiple government agencies, elected representatives and community groups to help them create and collate a unified vision for neighbourhoods and also in developing strategies to make it an on-the-ground reality.
His experience with safe access design strategies extends into working with station areas, private developments and SEZs across cities in the country. He has also been involved in the formulation of Transit oriented development strategies for projects Bangalore and Hubli-Dharwad and in research on TOD practices.
Before joining EMBARQ Sudeept has been working in architectural design and master planning of residential and commercial developmental projects. He has also been actively involved in research and academics through teaching, in graduate and post graduate programs, in universities in India. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from University; and a Master’s degree in Urban Design from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, India. Besides being an ardent traveller and cyclist, he holds a keen interest in adventure sports.
