Managing Associate - Regional Economics and Planning
Sree Kumar is a Managing Associate with Ross Centre for Sustainable Cities. The centre founded in 2014 combines the strength of WRI’s EMBARQ network for sustainable transport with the Institute’s expertise in energy & climate, adaptation, water, and governance aspires to deliver the goal of sustainable cities. He supports strategy of Regional Planning and Economics, specifically on influencing statutory documents including legislative frameworks for planning, urban regional and development plans and policies to. He is also involved in improving pedestrian infrastructure in historic core areas.
He has working experience of more than 13 years in the fields of Urban Planning and Design and Architecture in India and Libya. He has worked in supporting several local and state governments and private agencies on areas of policies formulation, urban planning and design and architectural design. Scales of work included Regional Plans, Development Plans, Micro Area Level Plans and design of individual parcels/buildings.
Sree Kumar has Master’s degree in Urban Design from Center for Environmental Planning and Technology University, Ahmedabad; Masters in Population Studies from International Institute of Population Sciences, Mumbai; and Bachelor of Architecture from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai.
