Radha is Managing Associate - Research and Practice at WRI Cities India. She is involved with expanding ongoing research on inclusive planning and the work on policy-planning solutions to manage motorized two-wheelers in Indian cities. She will help with the synthesis of economic data, growth scenarios, social and spatial implications of travel patterns in Bangalore. Radha also manages reporting on the impact of WRI Cities India’s projects.
Before joining WRI Cities India, Radha was employed as an Urban Planner-Designer at the Center for Infrastructure, Sustainable Transport and Urban Planning (CiSTUP), set up by the Karnataka Government within the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. Here she was active in carrying out applied research in the areas of urban planning-design, transport, environmental, policy and governance issues, with a focus on Bangalore city. Prior to this, she has consulted on studies pertaining to intermediate and informal public transport in Indian cities.
Other past roles have included work with a private urban planning consultancy firm, freelance architect, and research assistant-facilitator at the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, all in Bangalore. She has also volunteered with citizen groups and is a member of Sustainable Urban Mobility Network (SUM Net) India. Radha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Institute of Environmental Design, Gujarat and a Master’s in Urban Design from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi.
