Priyanka is a Senior Project Associate with the Urban Transport team in Mumbai. She has works on projects related to the service planning and operating bus services with city bus service providers. She authored the Bus Karo 2 publication, which examines and documents the implementation of significant advancements in bus transport in India. She is also part of the Equal Streets initiative, which gathers public support and creates awareness on road safety and sustainable transport-related issues, and proposes design improvements for non-motorised infrastructure. She also liaises with government agencies and coordinates efforts towards other transport projects in Mumbai.
Priyanka has four years of experience in both urban and transport planning. In her previous position she was active in Mumbai through her involvement in conceptual planning and designing of non-motorised environments. Prior to that she was based out of Australia where she worked with a consultancy to frame policies and strategies on public transport modes and non-motorised modes for multiple city councils. Her interests also lead her to devise a strategy for organisations and new developments to propagate sustainable travel options for staff and visitors.
Priyanka holds a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. Her previous study awarded her with a Bachelor degree in International Relations with a major in Japanese.
